The effectiveness of therapy does not necessarily depend on its length but but a number of factors such as the nature of the problem and the type of therapy employed.
THERAPEUTIC MODALITIES
For the effectiveness of therapy, it is important to vary the approach to the needs of the clients. While the overall approach is Humanistic/ Integrative, a wide spectrum of therapies are employed at the De Mello Institute. These include: Gestalt Therapy, Focusing-Oriented Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Body-Oriented Psychotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Ericksonian Hypnosis, Dreamwork and so on.
THERAPEUTIC RELATIONSHIP
Basic to the therapeutic relationship is the therapist-client bond where you are able to heal the wounds of life, to understand and integrate life experiences, learn new life skills and self-acceptance. You can communicate openly and freely given the confidential nature of the communication and the non-judgemental acceptance of another person who combines compassion with wisdom and skill. This is what we all need for our healing and this is what we offer.
